Plate Halo

The plate halo is a shoulder mobility exercise where you circle a weight plate around your head. It activates the rotator cuff and mobilizes the thoracic spine to prepare HYROX athletes for Wall Ball and SkiErg overhead work.
Movement
A plate halo moves a weight plate slowly around the head while the athlete controls the trunk and keeps the plate clear of the face. Grip, plate size, path and available shoulder motion affect whether the movement can be performed comfortably.

Programming and limits
Begin with a manageable implement and range and progress only while control and comfort remain. General resistance-training evidence supports individualized loading but does not establish plate halos as necessary for shoulder health or HYROX®. The exercise does not diagnose mobility or guarantee injury prevention; stop for sharp or worsening pain.
