Reverse Crunch

The reverse crunch is a core isolation exercise that lifts the hips off the floor by curling the pelvis toward the ribcage, targeting the lower rectus abdominis for improved pelvic stability during HYROX running and loaded station work.
Movement
A reverse crunch is a trunk exercise in which the pelvis rolls toward the ribcage while the upper body remains supported. The abdominal muscles contribute to controlling trunk and pelvic motion, but the exercise cannot isolate a separate “lower abdominal” muscle.

Use
Move only through a range you can control without momentum or pain. Repetitions and progression depend on current capacity and the wider programme. The exercise does not selectively remove abdominal fat, guarantee back protection or constitute a HYROX® requirement.
