Definition and limits

Forearm supination rotates the radius and palm anteriorly in anatomical position, or upward when the elbow is flexed. It occurs at the radioulnar joints; the biceps brachii and supinator contribute, with their roles changing with elbow position and load. The term is also used differently for foot motion, so context matters.
