A bodyweight compound exercise used in HYROX training. One of the 104 core exercises in the Repz training database.

The world's greatest stretch is a multi-plane dynamic mobility exercise that combines a deep lunge, thoracic spine rotation, and hamstring stretch into one flowing movement — the single most valuable warm-up exercise for HYROX athletes preparing to run, squat, lunge, and pull.

What the sequence is

“World’s greatest stretch” is an informal name for a multi-step mobility sequence, often combining a lunge, trunk rotation and optional hamstring or hip movement. There is no single governing definition; coaches use different versions. Perform only the components and range you can control without forcing pain.

Use and limits

A dynamic version may be included in a warm-up when it matches the upcoming activity. Repetitions, holds and range should reflect the athlete and purpose. One sequence does not assess every joint, permanently correct posture, replace specific preparation or guarantee injury prevention or HYROX® performance. “Greatest” is a nickname, not comparative evidence.
