Dead Hang

The dead hang builds grip endurance and shoulder stability for HYROX Sled Pull and Farmers Carry stations.
Definition
A dead hang is a supported body-weight hold from an overhead bar. Grip, shoulder position, foot assistance and duration change the task, and some people cannot tolerate an overhead position.

Programming
Use a secure bar and a grip and duration you can control without sharp or worsening pain. Assistance is a valid regression. A dead hang may train a specific hanging task, but it does not guarantee shoulder decompression, posture correction, injury prevention or race performance.
