Dumbbell Incline Bench Press

A dumbbell incline bench press is a two-arm press with dumbbells while the torso is supported on an inclined bench.
Movement and bench angle
The incline dumbbell press involves the pectoralis major, anterior deltoid and triceps, with contributions changing with angle, technique and load. Studies comparing press variations and bench angles support angle-dependent differences in muscle excitation, but they do not show complete “upper chest” isolation or one ideal angle for everyone.

Programming
Choose an incline, range and load that allow stable, controlled repetitions. Progress resistance or volume according to training status and response. No fixed angle, dumbbell percentage or repetition range guarantees shoulder safety, chest growth or direct improvement at a HYROX® station.

FAQ
What incline angle is best?
There is no universal best angle; choose one that fits the target and permits controlled pressing.
Does it isolate the upper chest?
No. Muscle contribution changes with angle, but several shoulder and elbow extensors remain involved.
