Ergometer

Ergometer — A machine that measures work output—commonly the rowing machine (Concept2) and SkiErg used in HYROX®. Provides precise power, pace, and calorie data for training.
Definition
An ergometer is exercise equipment designed to quantify mechanical work or related performance variables. Rowing, ski and cycling ergometers use different mechanisms and calculations, so equal displayed calories, distance, pace or power are not interchangeable across machines.

Using data
Use the same machine, monitor settings and protocol when comparing sessions. Displayed values depend on device design, calibration and the metric’s calculation. An ergometer does not guarantee laboratory accuracy, calorie expenditure, fitness gain or transfer to another exercise or HYROX® result.
