Glycogen

Glycogen — Stored carbohydrate in muscles and liver that serves as the primary fuel source during HYROX® races. Depletion causes the dreaded 'wall' in endurance events.
Definition and limits
Glycogen is stored carbohydrate, chiefly in skeletal muscle and liver. Muscle glycogen supports work in that muscle; liver glycogen helps maintain blood glucose. Stores change with diet and exercise, but are not simply “full” or “empty,” and depletion varies by intensity, duration and muscle use.
