Myofascial Release

Myofascial Release — Self-massage techniques using foam rollers, lacrosse balls, or massage guns to release tension in fascia and muscle tissue. Improves recovery and mobility between HYROX® sessions.
What the term means
“Myofascial release” is used for hands-on techniques and self-massage tools such as foam rollers. The phrase does not prove that fascia is physically “released,” adhesions are broken or toxins are removed. Pressure can change sensation and short-term range of motion, but mechanisms and effects vary.

Evidence and use
Foam-rolling studies report small acute range-of-motion and recovery-related effects on average, with varied methods and populations. This does not establish one optimal duration, pressure or schedule, and rolling does not replace sleep, load management or medical assessment. Avoid injured or medically unsuitable areas and do not use pain intensity as proof of efficacy.
