Rate of Force Development

Rate of Force Development — How quickly a muscle can produce maximum force. Critical for explosive HYROX® movements—sled starts, wall ball throws, and transitions between stations.
Definition and limits
Rate of force development (RFD) is the change in force divided by the time over which that change occurs, commonly taken from a force–time curve during a rapid contraction. The value depends strongly on the task, time window, onset detection, equipment, instruction and normalization. It is not interchangeable with maximal strength, power or reaction time.
