Tricep Pushdown

The tricep pushdown is a cable isolation exercise pressing a handle from chest height to full elbow extension, building the tricep endurance HYROX athletes need for sled push lockout, wall ball throws, and SkiErg pulling.
Movement
A triceps pushdown is resisted elbow extension on a cable. The triceps contributes while forearm muscles stabilize the grip. One acute EMG study found no significant triceps-activity difference among three tested handles; it does not identify a universally best attachment.

Programming
Control cable and body position, choose a comfortable grip and a load that permits the intended range. Handle, repetitions and volume depend on equipment and goal. It is optional for HYROX® and does not guarantee pain prevention or race improvement.
