Zone 5 Training

Zone 5 Training — Maximum-effort heart rate zone (90–100% max HR) that develops VO2max and anaerobic power—used sparingly for sprint finishes and all-out HYROX® efforts.
Zone 5 is model-dependent
Zone 5 is the highest band in some five-zone intensity models, but its boundaries are not universal. Percentage of maximum heart rate, heart-rate reserve, ventilatory or lactate thresholds can classify the same effort differently. State the model and whether values were measured or estimated.

Intervals and limits
High-intensity intervals alternate demanding work and recovery. Work duration, intensity, recovery and total volume shape the response; every repetition need not be an all-out sprint. Heart rate also lags during short efforts. Programme intervals according to experience, health and the wider load. No fixed format guarantees VO2max, speed or HYROX® gains.
