Pressing cable handles forward from a standing or seated position works the chest and triceps with resistance that stays constant to lockout.

The cable chest press is a standing pressing exercise that mimics HYROX Sled Push mechanics, building pressing strength with core stability demands.

Movement and setup

A cable chest press moves the handles forward through shoulder horizontal adduction and elbow extension. Pectoralis major, anterior deltoid and triceps contribute. It can be performed standing, split stance or supported; cable height, stance, path and load alter the task.

Programming and limits

Use a stable setup and a controlled range that is tolerable for the shoulders and elbows. Select load and repetitions for the training goal. Cables provide resistance along the line of pull, but this does not make the exercise inherently more functional or guarantee core, injury-prevention or HYROX® benefits.
