HYROX Roxzone: route, rules and hydration

Moving through the Roxzone
Complete the required running laps before entering for the next station. Follow the station sequence, use the equipment assigned by race crew and return to the running course by the designated route. After the final wall balls, follow the finish route rather than starting another kilometre.
The venue map matters: knowing the eight stations does not identify their physical entrances. Locate the Roxzone IN and OUT arches, station entrances and water provision before your race using the official event information. Do not enter the Roxzone or run course before your assigned start; your timing chip may trigger an incorrect record.
Rules that affect the route
In the 2026/27 Singles and Doubles rules, entering the Roxzone through OUT or leaving through IN incurs two minutes per infringement. Station entrances and exits also have prescribed routes. Keep these separate in your mental map and follow crew instructions.
Water is provided at least once during, before or after each Roxzone pass. Other drinks may be available, but are not guaranteed. Carry any personal nutrition from the start; do not accept drinks or nutrition from spectators. Put cups and wrappers in the supplied bins. Aid-station fluids are for drinking, not pouring over yourself.
Planning a useful transition
Identify your next station before approaching its entrance. Move at an effort you can control and avoid obstructing others. In Doubles, plan together; transitions are not a place to exchange responsibility for whole running segments.
There is no fixed number of minutes that every racer can save here. Review your actual route and recorded splits rather than applying an invented universal target. See transition area and running lanes.
Questions
Is the Roxzone a spectator area?
It is part of the competition route. Friends and family should use the event's designated spectator areas and access information.
Can a friend hand me a drink there?
No. The standard rules restrict receiving drinks or nutrition to official aid stations during the race.
Is the Roxzone layout identical at every venue?
Use the specific event map. Do not assume the same entrances or travel distances as a previous race.
