Specificity

Specificity — The principle that training adaptations are specific to the demands placed on the body. HYROX® training must include both running and functional station work to transfer to race day.
Definition and limits
Training specificity means adaptations and measured improvements are influenced by what is practised and tested, including movement, contraction type, range, velocity, load and energy-system demands. Transfer can occur, but is usually incomplete and depends on the outcome and population. Specificity does not require copying every visible feature of a sport movement.
