Wall Sit

The wall sit is a bodyweight isometric exercise holding a seated position against a wall with thighs parallel to the floor, building the quad endurance HYROX athletes need for sandbag lunges, sled push, and sustained lower-body performance.
Movement and evidence
A wall sit is an isometric squat held against a wall without repeated joint movement. Hip, knee and ankle positions change leverage and effort. Isometric trials include wall-squat protocols, but do not prove that one wall sit treats hypertension or improves HYROX®.

Execution and safety
Choose depth and duration with controlled breathing and no sharp pain on a non-slip surface. Longer, deeper or loaded holds generally increase demand, but no universal 90-degree or time target applies. Isometric exercise can acutely raise blood pressure; cardiovascular concerns need individualized guidance.
