Zone 3 Training

Zone 3 Training — Tempo heart rate zone (70–80% max HR) that improves lactate clearance and sustained effort—the intensity most HYROX® athletes race at.
Zone models
Zone 3 is the middle band in some five-zone models, but its boundaries and meaning depend on the method. Percent maximum heart rate, heart-rate reserve, pace, power and physiological thresholds are not interchangeable. State the model and whether anchors were measured or estimated.

Use and limits
A moderate or tempo-like session can be useful when it matches the athlete and goal. The talk test and perceived effort offer broad cues, not threshold measurements. Zone 3 is neither automatically wasted nor mandatory, and no fixed duration or weekly percentage applies to everyone. Programme intensity with the wider load and recovery.
