HYROX Doubles rules: running, sharing and weights

Run together, share the stations
The race consists of eight runs and eight stations in the usual order. Both partners start together, complete the full running distance together, and enter and leave each station together. The workout cannot begin before both arrive.
At stations, partners can change after a self-selected amount of work, subject to that movement's changeover rules. A 1,000 m row could be divided into four 250 m efforts, for example. That is an optional strategy, not a mandatory split. There is no rule assigning four whole stations to each partner or requiring an odd/even alternation.
Station totals and division weights
The prescribed distance or repetition count is the team total. The team completes 100 wall balls, not 100 per partner. Running is different: each athlete runs all eight segments.
| Division | Sled push | Sled pull | Farmers carry | Sandbag lunges | Wall balls |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Women Open | 102 kg | 78 kg | 2 × 16 kg | 10 kg | 4 kg |
| Women Pro | 152 kg | 103 kg | 2 × 24 kg | 20 kg | 6 kg |
| Men Open | 152 kg | 103 kg | 2 × 24 kg | 20 kg | 6 kg |
| Men Pro | 202 kg | 153 kg | 2 × 32 kg | 30 kg | 9 kg |
| Mixed | 152 kg | 103 kg | 2 × 24 kg | 20 kg | 6 kg |
Sled figures include the sled. Mixed partners use the same station equipment and weights. For wall balls, the woman uses the 2.70 m target and the man the 3.00 m target. The ball remains 6 kg for both. The same target heights apply to women and men in the other standard Doubles divisions.
Changeovers and race conduct
- Only one partner works at a time. Follow the assigned equipment, lane and waiting-area instructions.
- Enter and exit stations together. Running ahead of your partner can incur a penalty.
- In the 2026/27 rules, the resting partner must stay on their feet in the designated workout zone without obstructing others.
- Movement-specific handovers matter. Read the station rules instead of assuming every changeover works like rowing.
- For age-group ranking, the rulebook uses the partners' average age on race day, not the older partner's age alone.
Plan a split you can practise
Choose a running pace both partners can sustain. Rehearse short, clear changeover calls and decide who starts each station. Adjust the work split to actual fatigue instead of protecting an arbitrary 50/50 allocation. A faster individual station effort can still produce a slower team race if it leaves one partner unable to hold the shared running pace.

Questions
Can we split a station between us?
Yes. Partners share station work with one working at a time, following the station's movement and changeover rules.
Does each partner run only 4 km?
No. Both partners complete the full eight running segments together, totaling 8 km per athlete on the designated run course.
Does the woman use a lighter sled in Mixed Doubles?
No. Both Mixed partners share the 152 kg sled push and 103 kg sled pull, including the sled.
