HYROX Open: Singles format, weights and entry

What an Open race includes
The 2026/27 Singles format alternates a run with a station eight times. The designated running distance totals 8,000 m in eight segments of approximately 1 km. The venue map determines how many laps each segment requires. The eighth run comes before wall balls; there is no additional kilometre after them.
| Station | Women Open | Men Open |
|---|---|---|
| SkiErg | 1,000 m | 1,000 m |
| Sled push | 102 kg, 50 m | 152 kg, 50 m |
| Sled pull | 78 kg, 50 m | 103 kg, 50 m |
| Burpee broad jumps | 80 m | 80 m |
| Rowing | 1,000 m | 1,000 m |
| Farmers carry | 2 × 16 kg, 200 m | 2 × 24 kg, 200 m |
| Sandbag lunges | 10 kg, 100 m | 20 kg, 100 m |
| Wall balls | 100 reps, 4 kg, 2.70 m target | 100 reps, 6 kg, 3.00 m target |
Sled totals include the sled. Each sled station is four 12.5 m lengths. The carry weight is per kettlebell. Completing the listed quantity does not replace the movement standards: every station has its own requirements.
Entry is different from championship qualification
Ordinary Open entry does not require a qualifying race time. The Singles rules require racers to be at least 16 on race day and to meet the participation conditions. Register through the official event's available categories. Championship and Elite qualification are separate processes; do not infer their requirements from Open entry.
Open, Pro or Doubles?
Open and Pro Singles have the same running distance and station distances, but Pro increases the prescribed loads. Choosing Pro is not governed by a universal Open finishing-time threshold.
Doubles changes the team format: both partners complete the runs together and share station work under the Doubles rules. It is not a mandatory stage before Open. Relay and Adaptive also have separate rulebooks.
For preparation, assess whether you can practise the relevant movements and loads with control. Use your own recent sessions to plan pacing rather than an unsupported age- or sex-specific finish-time promise. Check the event information for start time, course layout and operational instructions.

Questions
Do I need a qualifying time for Open?
No qualifying race time is required for ordinary Open entry. Participation conditions and ticket availability still apply.
Is the men's Open farmers carry only 100 m?
No. Both Women Open and Men Open cover 200 m at this station.
Does Open mean 75 wall balls?
No. The 2026/27 standard Singles rules require 100 valid wall balls in both Open categories.
