HYROX Mixed Doubles: shared loads and team rules

Running is shared in company, not divided
Both athletes run every segment together: the designated running distance is 8 km per person. You do not alternate kilometres, choose who runs first or assign the harder runs to one partner. Both start together and must enter and leave stations together.
Inside a station, one athlete works while the other rests according to that station's handover rules. The resting athlete stays on their feet within the designated zone and must not obstruct others. The station cannot begin until both partners are present.
Mixed loads for 2026/27
These are the team tasks; both partners use the same prescribed load:
- SkiErg: 1,000 m; sled push: 50 m at 152 kg including sled.
- Sled pull: 50 m at 103 kg including sled; burpee broad jumps: 80 m.
- Rowing: 1,000 m; farmers carry: 200 m with two 24 kg kettlebells.
- Sandbag lunges: 100 m with 20 kg; wall balls: 100 repetitions with 6 kg.
The wall-ball target differs: 2.70 m for the woman and 3.00 m for the man. The ball does not change to 4 or 9 kg when the working partner changes. Likewise, there is no switch between men's and women's Open sleds. See Doubles weights for the other divisions.
Planning the division of work
There is no mandatory 50:50 station split. Trial manageable blocks and clear signals while respecting each station's movement and changeover rules. Choose work shares from your actual abilities, not assumptions based on sex. Both still need to sustain the shared running pace.
Mixed has its own division ranking. The team's age group uses average age on race day, and the later finishing chip read determines the team time. Worlds entry follows allocated slots and the current qualification rules, not a universal Mixed time cutoff.
FAQ
Does the man use heavier weights than the woman?
No. Both use the same Mixed loads. Their wall-ball target heights differ.
Who runs the first kilometre?
Both athletes. They also run each of the remaining seven segments together.
Is Mixed the same as men’s or women’s Doubles?
The paired running and shared-station principles are the same. Mixed pairs one woman and one man. Its equipment loads match standard Men and Women Pro Doubles; the wall-ball target is 2.70 m for the woman and 3.00 m for the man.
