HYROX race bib: number, wristband and ankle chip

What to collect at check-in
Bring government-issued photo identification and your registration confirmation. Section 11.1 lists the timing chip with ankle strap, racer number and wrist identification among the check-in items. Follow staff instructions for the supplied items rather than assuming a road-race paper bib system.
The wristband identifies your wave and division and must be visible on the wrist. Your official start time must also be clearly visible on your arm. These identification requirements are separate from the ankle-chip placement rule.
Wear the chip correctly throughout the race
The timing chip belongs on an ankle, not on your chest, wrist or in a pocket. Incorrect placement may produce an invalid or incomplete timing record; section 7 specifies a Did Not Start result for failure to wear it on an ankle while racing.
In Doubles, each participant has a chip: two racers means two chips. One shared team chip is not sufficient. Both partners must be present and begin together.
Before your wave, check that the issued strap is secure and ask staff if something is missing, damaged or unclear. Do not enter the Roxzone or running course early; this can trigger a timing read before your assigned start.
Resolve problems through the event team
Use the published check-in hours and collection instructions. This page cannot promise previous-day collection or automatic replacement arrangements at every event.
If you discover a result problem, report your event, division and racer details through the official support route. Do not assume a missing split can always be reconstructed from video. Keep your registration confirmation available for the enquiry. See wave start for start-time rules.
Questions
Is the timing chip built into a chest bib?
The current rules specify a separate issued chip worn on an ankle. A general bib description must not replace that instruction.
Does each Doubles partner need a chip?
Yes. Doubles uses two timing chips, one per participant.
Should I buy safety pins or a bib belt for timing?
Follow the supplied identification instructions. Neither item substitutes for the issued ankle strap and correctly placed chip.
