HYROX race briefing: instructions before the start

Use the rulebook and event information together
Read the season's rulebook for your format before race day. Then check the official event map, assigned start time and local arrival information. Start instructions complement that preparation; do not rely on a short announcement to teach every movement standard.
The rulebook's ten-minute assembly requirement is specific. It does not establish a separate universal meeting lasting 10–15 minutes in the warm-up area, or one beginning 15–30 minutes before every wave. Follow any additional instructions published for your own event.
Questions worth resolving before you start
- How many laps complete each running segment, and where is the exit towards the next station?
- Where are the Roxzone IN and OUT arches, station approaches and finish route?
- Is your assigned start time correct and clearly visible on your arm?
- Is your timing chip correctly attached to an ankle, with your wristband visible?
- Where should you ask for help if a route or instruction is unclear?
For Doubles, both partners must start together. Discuss the route and station sharing beforehand rather than treating the event as alternating whole running segments.
Do not substitute rumours for instructions
The standard penalty system includes time penalties, no-reps and disqualification; it is not a general system of penalty running loops. Likewise, this briefing page does not establish a universal four-hour time cap. Check actual event information for operational constraints.
If information appears inconsistent, ask the event officials to clarify it. Do not assume that an informal comment changes station order or division loads. Do not enter the live course to inspect it before your assigned start, because this can trigger your timing chip.
See running lanes and race identification.
Questions
When do I report for start instructions?
At the start tunnel ten minutes before your assigned start, as required by section 11.4.
What if I miss the instructions?
Contact event staff immediately. Do not assume you can join another wave or that a specific automatic briefing-only penalty applies.
Will every briefing have the same duration and language?
This is not guaranteed by the cited rulebooks. Use the specific event's communication and ask for clarification when needed.
